European Account Manager

Basic: £32K, OTE: £38K

This is a unique opportunity for a molecular biologist with hands on experience in forensic sciences or genetic identification to move into a highly technical commercial position with a world leading organisation who are keen to recruit a European Account Manager. The position will involve visiting customer sites that are involved in forensic analysis to promote directly the companies range of products, act as a technical trouble shooter for customers in Europe, run internal training sessions for company staff on the products and organise and conduct customer workshops sessions. You will visit customers in the UK and also assist in the Benelux region in supporting from a technical perspective the distributor sales force, occasional trips further a field may be required. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced scientist who is now keen to utilise all of their forensics experience and excellent communication skills in a more commercial role, the position itself is more application biased than out and out sales due to the nature of the user base.

The successful candidate will be a graduate, MSc or PhD in Molecular biology or biochemistry and have at least 3 years of laboratory experience of which at least 1 year must be in a forensic or genetic identity testing laboratory. You will be familiar with STR's, DNA sequencing or CE platforms and have the ability to trouble shoot their use, experience on ABI377, ABI310 or 3100 is highly desirable, in addition you will have excellent communication skills and be happy to travel within Europe.
