This is a really interesting job working for a global, highly professional instrumentation company.
They have two main product lines - microscopy instruments sold to end users, and imaging automation components such as autofocus equipment, and scanning platforms, for the OEM instrumentation industry. They sell their range across Europe (and beyond) from the UK, and have identified German-speaking countries as a key market. They require an Area Sales Manager to be based in the UK initially, to develop the German market - assisting the distributor network there, undertaking market research and identifying mechanisms to promote brands, generating leads and visiting them to secure sales. You will have a direct sales role in this job, so of course will visit Germany frequently, and there are brilliant prospects. In the long term the plan is for you to permanently relocate to Germany and perhaps set up an office there. The potential market is enormous and several times larger than the UK, so now is the time to get involved and see the business grow, and to be a key player in that expansion.
You must be a fluent German speaker and preferably be a German national, with English fluency too. From a technical sales backround, you should have actual experience in selling a scientific product. Microscopy sales background is ideal. It's a challenging job and one for an ambitious, hard working person with big career plans and an existing track record in success.
