Sales and Marketing Manager

Basic: £50K

This is a superb opportunity to be part of a small organisation, and take a strategic and responsible role in directing the business and contributing to it's success. Jobs don't come more 'hands on' than this!

Founded in 1990, the company develops, manufactures and supplies image analysis and data processing solutions for many areas of scientific research and industry - the main focus is genetic toxicology instrumentation and software, for regulatory and non-regulatory genetic toxicity testing in the development of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food additives, agrochemicals and industrial chemicals. It's a specialised area and a growth industry.

The company also have other image analysis products for different applications. They are looking ahead, and now is the right time to take on a new member of the small team in an autonomous and broad business role. Working closely with the directors, the main goal is to ensure that the range of products are achieving market potential. Are you willing to challenge existing practices and speak your mind? You'll be looking at various approaches in order to achieve worldwide sales, and using your business skills to direct marketing strategy and even product development, AND implementing these plans yourself, including direct sales. This needs a self motivated person who is capable of identifying the business' needs - and can carry through plans with determination. The potential is huge - the reputation of the company is good, and they have some unique products - the rest is down to you.

You should be computer literate and technically minded with a science degree and the ability to think laterally. If you know high-throughput screening this is a real boon. Experience with sales and marketing is a must, and ability to undertake negotiations is required. This really is a great challenge for someone like you, looking for an exciting next step in your career.
