Account Manager, Lasers £32k
Basic: £32k OTE: £38k
An exceptional opportunity with an organisation which designs and manufactures photonics components and sytems.
They consider themselves a leading player in the industry. They have an exciting opening for an Account Manager of their range of lasers, selling primarily to OEMs in the UK and Ireland. It's a great time to join, because most of the R & D budget is being used in new laser product development, and new products are imminent! Growing year on year, this organisation is doing well. So, your role will consist of managing five or six key accounts. This is not a catalogue sales job - you'll work closely with these accounts to negotiate contracts, and ensure that new technology/product is introduced successfully to them, so it's integrated into their own product development. In this way you will have a key role in growing these accounts and securing the continued success of the company. In addition, you'll act as a bridge between the manufacturing facility, and the clients. There is some customisation of products too. This is a high profile role and an interesting job, with uncapped commission and a generous package, so what are you waiting for?
Clearly you will need a strong technical background as well as commercial sense and experience. It's a role that needs an in depth knowledge of lasers or laser instrumentation in various applications - so a degree in physics (or a closely related subject) is necessary. You'll also need to demonstrate sales experience in lasers or laser instrumentation, and this experience should be face to face in nature. You will be visiting clients perhaps a day a week, and the remainder of the time in the office ideally (SE) - although there may be opportunity to work from home if you are sufficiently experienced.
