Account Manager - £22k (£38k OTE)

Our client is a world market leader in strapping and pallet stretchwrapping systems, with an annual turnover of around £1 billion, operating in over 120 countries via wholly owned subsidiaries and distributors.

In Europe, they employ over 1000 people, and have a turnover of over £250 million and have remained very profitable by a policy of technological leadership, and total system selling (ie the machine for application, strap, spare parts and a wide range of after sales services.) It is a people oriented company, with excellent training facilities, where most promotion comes internally. As a result, they have a very long average service within the workforce - average service in the UK workforce is about 10 years. The role is to manage and develop the territory consisting currently of around 40 key accounts; to identify new potential customers in target industries; to develop appropriate plans to win them, and implement plans successfully; to communicate back to the company the needs of our customers to assist the company further develop products & services to meet the ongoing needs of customers amnd to communicate to Key Accounts the value added by the Company which justifies premium pricing. The territory will include the East of England from London to Yorkshire. The ideal location would be the Home Counties.

You should be a dynamic individual with experience of selling industrial capital equipment, preferably including the sale of associated consumable products. Experience of handling key accounts would be an advantage, as would a technical background. Fluency in a foreign language whilst not essential for the advertised role would be a significant advantage for the future, due to the rapid Europeanisation of our organisation, and that of the key customer base. A high degree of self motivation is required, able to work with the minimum of supervision.
