Applications Support Specialist - £30k

A world leading manufacturer of molecular biology research instruments is keen to recruit an Applications Support Specialist to support their customer base within the UK and Europe.

The role will be office based and will involve answering technical queries from customers by telephone and e-mail, supporting field based sales and support staff from a technical perspective. There will also occasionally be trips to customer sites and trade shows within Europe. You will also become involved in proof of principal studies for customers requiring some laboratory work. This is a great opportunity for a person keen to move away from bench research work into a more commercially orientated role yet requiring a high degree of technical ability. The successful candidate will be a BSc or higher and have a sound understanding of molecular biology research techniques. Those with microarray experience will be highly desirable, and in addition fluency in a second language is essential, ideally French, German or Italian.
