Scientific Sales Engineer - £30k (£35k OTE)

A great new position has just been created by a manufacturer of lasers and photonic instruments used by leading scientific research institutes and some industrial centres. The position will involve taking over a number of established accounts in the South of the UK and developing further sales within these accounts. Another aspect of the role will be to develop industrial and OEM business within the South of the UK. The systems are large and cost from £100K -£700K hence the lead times are long. The company is keen to recruit a person with excellent relationship building skills, a natural communicator who will be able to work with professors as easily as purchasing managers. The successful candidate will be a graduate or PhD in physics, analytical chemistry or have compensating research experience in the optical field. No previous sales experience is required although those with relevant sales experience should still apply. As previously mentioned communication skills are paramount along with high levels of self motivation as you will need to manage your time and long sales processes effectively.
