Laboratory Manager - £40K (£45K OTE)

A very rare opportunity has become available for an experienced Laboratory Manager to join a rapidly expanding company in the environmental monitoring business. The laboratory has 45 full time staff and provides a laboratory service to a number of divisions of its parent company, purely in the environmental industry. The site is very well funded and has achieved a high level of accreditation. They are keen to develop their laboratory service offering beyond their own subsidiaries and are now looking for a dynamic leader to initiate this. The role will involve the daily management of the facility and its interaction with its current customer base; you will also take the facility to the next level and capture external research contracts. The successful candidate will be a chemistry graduate, ideally in organic chemistry with at least five years of management experience in a contract laboratory environment. Previous experience within the environmental field is not necessary; enthusiasm and energy will be essential in this developing opportunity though.
