Vestal Virgins Beware!

The slavering beast that is Seltek is on the prowl once more, hungrily hunting for fresh young meat! (And in line with the age discrimination act of 2006 this includes old meat.)

Loosely translated, this means we are interested in talking to any science student who is finishing their course of study this year. Some will be continuing their studies, going on to higher qualifications; some may have a clear idea of what they want to do, and may even have a job lined up. But many will feel as if they are at a crossroads, with little or no idea of the options that are available to them, or which direction might suit them best.

These are the people we would like to talk to!

What can Seltek offer such people?

  • Ours is a completely free service to job seekers
  • We place people in all types of scientific and medical jobs including clinical research, scientific/medical sales, marketing, customer support, and service jobs, as well as laboratory positions. We work with worldwide giants such as Fisher, Roche and Bayer, as well as "sexy" start-up companies on the university science parks, and with all manner of companies in between. Geographically, our reach knows no bounds, although most of our placements are in the UK and Europe .

We offer:

  • Help with preparing a winning CV
  • Unbiased career advice
  • Interviews arranged
  • Training on successful interview practice
  • Help with salary negotiations
  • Preparation before commencement of employment
  • Assistance throughout your career after you've started

In a nutshell, we have helped many people onto that all-important first rung in their career over the last two decades. And we can help you, or your sons, daughters, relatives and friends.

If you would like an informal no-strings chat, or if you know someone who could benefit from our help, here's who to contact:

The Best Job on Earth!

Well, that may be over-egging the pudding a bit, but it's suited me pretty well for more than quarter of a century! Where else could you find a job where you can sit in a comfy chair all day, drinking tea and coffee, chatting to amiable and like-minded colleagues, and earning over £100K per annum? (Editor's note, for the avoidance of going to prison: this level of earnings is unusual, but is not, repeat not, unknown!)

And, when you do have to get down to some work, you'll be talking to interesting, intelligent people all of whom genuinely appreciate the work that you do and the help that you give them. Some will even pay you! (Editor in a panic again: actually, clients pay us, we pay you!)

I am of course talking about a job with Seltek Consultants!

We are looking to recruit two new members of staff - one in Bishop's Stortford, Herts. to deal with scientific sales and marketing positions; and one in Egham, Surrey to deal with clinical research posts.

Who are we looking for?

  • Aged 16 to 65
  • Educated to 'read and write' level at least
  • Willing to live and work in/near one of our two locations
  • Utterly at ease with your fellow human beings
  • As positive, enthusiastic and hard-working as it is possible to be, without dying on your feet

That's all! Interested? Please give me a call:

Guy Buncombe, 01279 657716, guy@seltekconsultants.co.uk
