Time to Change!

As reported in our October Hotsheet, the legendary investor Warren Buffet, the 'Sage of Omaha', has advised that now is the time to buy (US) stock, and given his wealth and his incredible ability to invest successfully, who would doubt him?

At Seltek we have noticed two phenomena during the reported downturn in the global economy: firstly, within the field of scientific sales and marketing, and clinical research - the two fields we operate in - there is no shortage of job opportunities! In fact, the opposite: we have many clients who are very keen indeed to hire, and there are some extremely interesting opportunities available (some of which are highlighted below). Furthermore, our clients are not always asking for a lot of experience. In fact, many will happily accept candidates with no commercial experience, as long as they have life science qualifications, and what my Granny used to call 'gumption'.
As far as we can see, there has never been a better time for job seekers!

What a pity then, that (phenomenon #2) there are so few candidates to choose from. Again, our observation is that people have become petrified by the reports of doom and gloom in the media. And it's certainly true to say that most people cannot countenance the idea of moving house, because of the parlous state of the property market in the UK. People seem to be battening down the hatches, and sitting out the storm.

So for the adventurous and the bold, there will probably never be a better opportunity to enhance your careers! We advocate that everyone at least allows themselves a few days off to check out what is available to them in the job market. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain!

If it's good enough for Warren Buffet, it's good enough for you!
