The Hotsheet December 2009 |
|||
Seltek's Christmas Competition!The directors and staff at Seltek would like to thank all our customers and candidates for their continued and loyal support during this difficult year, and to wish you a very merry Christmas, and a happy and prosperous New Year in 2010! To celebrate the joy that we feel sure will accompany the increase in all our fortunes in the coming months, we cordially invite you to participate in the keenly awaited annual Seltek Christmas Competition, which we've entitled 'Reaching for the Heights'. To enter, all you have to do is tell us what and where these high places are, around the world. Entries should reach us before 18th December and the winners (the first two correct entries to be drawn out of a hat) will be announced in our January Hotsheet (names may need to be hidden for confidentiality reasons). Winners will of course be notified immediately. First prize will be a bottle of champagne to help sparkle up the seasonal celebrations, second prize is a box of chocolates. Postal people willing, we will endeavour to have the prizes delivered to the lucky winners before Christmas. |
The Rights of Man (and Woman) Part IIIn the beginning there was The Hotsheet. And The Hotsheet was designed to promote the jobs that our clients desperately need to fill, and the Star Candidates that Seltek are exceedingly keen to bring to the attention of potential employers. And The Hotsheet has only ever been published with the best of intentions, and with good will to all men (and women). But Lo! It was not all good! Highly valued feedback from the world of men (and women) has brought to our attention the potential for jeopardy that has been created by the publication of personal information about candidates on The Hotsheet, and The Editor has therefore decreed that this practice must stop. Therefore, henceforth we will list the Top Twenty Candidates from the past month in title only, with no other information that might conceivably allow candidates to be identified. We hope that this will not diminish the interest which is aroused amongst potential employers in our 'Stars of Bethlehem', but we believe this is for the best. We also seek to reassure all our candidates that their welfare and privacy is paramount to Seltek, the importance of which is matched only by the zeal we will unleash in our attempts to find everone their job of a lifetime. |
Nothing but rock solid, gilt-edged good news!It has certainly been a turbulent year in the world of recruitment, reflecting the turmoil that has prevailed in the world economy as a whole. However, the general feeling amongst our clients is that we have passed the worst of this recession and that things are beginning to move forward in a positive direction. We at Seltek share this view. Our sales figures for the last six months (to the end of November) are a whopping 77% up on the figure for the six months to the end of May, and we are actively looking to recruit further staff http://www.seltekconsultants.co.uk/jobs_science_recruitment.html to cope with this massive surge in demand for our services. For further encouragement we can look at the Recruitment & Employers Confederation (REC) http://www.rec.uk.com/home November 2009 Report on Jobs which reveals that permanent placements rose at the fastest pace for two years in October. Demand for permanent staff (vacancies) increased for the first time since May 2008. Average starting salaries awarded to successful candidates placed in permanent jobs continued to fall in October, in line with the trend seen throughout the past thirteen months. However, the rate of decline eased to only a marginal pace that was the weakest in that sequence. Commenting on the latest survey results, Bernard Brown, Partner and Head of Business Services at KPMG said: "The UK jobs market looks healthier today than at any time in the last two years which is, of course, encouraging news." |
A Simple Explanation!One Christmas, a long time ago, Santa Claus was getting ready for his annual trip; but there were problems ...... everywhere. Then, Mrs. Claus popped in to tell Santa that her mother was coming to stay for Christmas; which stressed him even more. After a while, he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and run away, heaven knows where to. Then, when he began to load the sleigh one of the boards broke and several large toy-bags fell to the ground, scattering their contents all over the place. Needless to say, Santa was not in the best of moods. Thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree. |
Hot JobsChristmas is coming, the geese are getting fat... Here's how to put a vast number of pennies into the old (or young) man (or woman's) hat! Peruse if you will some of the fantastic career opportunities that we are currently privileged to be handling.
