This is an opportunity with a leading manufacturer and provider of specialised microbiology and life sciences products. The company has an impressive international representation with sales forces and distributor partners in the UK, Europe and America. The main role of Product Manager would be to manage allocated existing products through their lifecycle and oversee new product launches. Some of your responsibilities will be to: establish pricing strategies, support distributors and sales people, prepare sales forecasts, do market research, provide training and promotional material and manage a marketing budget. The position is based from the office but you will be spending 2-3 days visiting customers and distributors.
You must have a good understanding of the culture media and pharmaceutical market place and have experience of general marketing, planning and implementation. You must have a proven ability to effectively communicate with several types and levels of staff and external contacts, both in writing and verbally. You must also have a working knowledge of the financial components of product and marketing management including budget processes and return on investment calculations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a leading manufacturing company specialising in cell culture products. As the Distribution Manager your overall responsibility will be to co-ordinate and develop sales of the range of products through European distribution networks. You will be based from the main office but will be required to travel approximately 30% of the time. You will be providing technical support to customers and distributors by working closely with the distributor sales forces and liaising with European and US marketing groups. Your focus will be to develop the sales tools needed by the European market to achieve successful sales growth.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in biology or biotechnology and have practical experience with cell culture and fermentation processes. You must have some commercial experience preferably in sales and marketing. Product managers or application specialists wishing to change from a technical to a more commercial role will be considered.
