What Can I Do With FastTrack?
Job Notification Emails / Hotsheet
I get too many latest jobs emails!
I'm not getting any / enough latest jobs emails!
In I.T. parlance it is a web based graphical interface between you the user and our recruitment database. Put simply, FastTrack provides you with a tool that enables you to view certain aspects of our database, specifically all of our live vacancies and personal information directly related to yourself. When you login to your account, the information you are viewing is actually being pulled directly from the database in our office. That means that if you make changes to the data (for example on your profile page), the moment you 'submit' those changes that information immediately becomes available to your consultant in our office.
Once you have logged in to FastTrack you will see a navigation menu at the top with the following buttons:
- Profile: This is where you'll find your personal information. If you have previously sent your CV to us you may find much of this has been filled out for you. Check that this information is correct, if you move or change email address you can update it here. If you ever need to use FastTrack's 'Forgotten Password' facility it's worth bearing in mind that it won't work unless you enter your name, postcode and email address exactly as it appears here.
You will also use this page to manage your subscription to the latest jobs notification service. Tick the latest jobs check box to subscribe. (See below for more information on this)
- CV: Check we have your latest CV. You can actually open the CV we currently have on file for you. If it's out of date you'll be able to upload your new version.
- Progress: Here you'll be able to view all current or previous applications including the status of those applications. You'll also be able to access job descriptions of the positions you've applied for.
- Search: Use this section to search for jobs by skills and / or job category.
- Keywords: Use this section to search for jobs by keywords.
- Timesheets: Contract staff can use this section to submit timesheets.
- Basket: You can save multiple jobs to your basket in order to apply for them all at once later. Here you can view all those jobs and submit your application.
- Password: Change your password (NB. if you wish to change your username you'll need to contact me by email (steve@seltekconsultants.co.uk) and I can make that change for you) .
- Logoff: Logoff and return to our home page.
Job Notification Emails / Hotsheet
You can turn these emails on or off using the check box just under your name and title on your "Profile" page. The Hotsheet is sent out once a month to all candidates who are subscribed to this mailing list. You can find our current Hotsheet and archive of previous Hotsheets HERE.
Latest jobs emails are sent out daily to candidates subscribed to the mailing list, but only if those jobs match the selections you have made on your "Profile" page. The system looks at selections made in the following areas:
- Skills
- Industry Category
- Job Category
- Location
- Salary
If you have not made any selections in one or more of these areas the system will ignore that information. For example, if you have not selected a preferred location you will be informed of vacancies that match all your other criteria regardless of the location.
I get too many latest jobs emails!
As detailed above our Fastrack system "decides" whether or not to send you a job notification email using the information you have selected in the fields listed above on your "Profile" page. If you have not entered any information for one of these areas it assumes this is not important to you and ignores it. If you do not enter any information for any of these areas, you will receive notification of all the vacancies we register!
To reduce the number of emails simply login to your account and enter the information that is important to you.

I'm not getting any / enough latest jobs emails!
Read the previous two topics "Job Notification Emails / Hotsheet" and "I get too many latest jobs emails!". The chances are you have made too many very specific selections on your "Profile" page. Try clearing some of your selections from one or more of these areas until you start receiving some notifications.
If you never receive any notification emails or our monthly Hotsheets, make sure that the check box just under your name and title on the "Profile" page is ticked. Also check your email address is correct. If you have been unsubscribed (tick box no longer ticked) we may have had problems with emails to you bouncing back to us undelivered!
