Established in the 1920’s this company is now a global leader in diagnostic imaging. They research, develop and manufacture contrast media and injectors to improve diagnostic imaging efficiency, patient safety and cost-effectiveness. They’re involved in the main imaging modalities such as X-ray (including Computerized Tomography (CT)), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine. Although they operate in 40 countries worldwide, they’re still family run and have managed to maintain that small family run feel rather than turning into a large corporate dinosaur. They are very different from any other equipment or media manufacturer in this market and have always concentrated on doing what is right for the customer.
You will become the technical expert for the south of the UK (South of Birmingham). Your responsibilities will include supporting the sales team in pre-sales demos. These might be “dry” demos where you just plug the injectors in and show the potential client how they work through to spending an entire day at a hospital running demonstrations with actual patients where you’re guiding the potential client on getting the best results from the equipment and contrast media. You’ll also be the point of contact regarding any problems post sales and training the customers where needed. You will be encouraged to relay feedback to the engineering team to help with the development of future injectors. Part of your duties will be maintenance and servicing although this is fairly basic. You’ll never be required to take an injector apart. This is mainly calibration work, checking alarms, pressure gauges etc. Your main focus will be in the MRI and CT area within both NHS and private hospitals but also within veterinary practices.
Full training will be provided, indeed this may include a week in Milan learning about their contrast media. You’ll be put through the ABPI exam if you’re not already registered and will go through the Medical Industry Accreditation process every two years. There is an excellent benefits package including a generous car allowance, 8%% contributory pension and £500 per year towards gym fees. Also, this company are happy to support you through further education, whether that be a correspondence MSc or that MBA you always intended to study for.
We’re looking for technical experts in this field. It’s likely that you are or have been a radiographer or sonographer. Whilst you may already be a field applications person that is not required. Equal consideration will be given to people currently working in a clinical setting looking to break into the commercial world, provided you have an outgoing, enthusiastic personality, are happy to take on responsibility and work autonomously.
