They are certainly market leading in the US and Asia, and have a well-established team in the UK which is also expanding. This business is a positive, high energy, fast paced molecular biology provider. They have a large R&D team who continue to develop innovative tools for the molecular market. The company itself are made up of enthusiastic characters all working towards the same mission of providing innovative solutions and continuing the growth of the company.
You will be reporting into the global director of customer support. You will be an entrepreneurial character, responsible for hiring a commercial team, several lab staff, marketing, customer support and IT team members, and leading the strategy in conjunction with your colleagues in the US and the UK.
You will be developing the strategy and structure of the German business to make it scalable; responsible for profit and loss, competitive positioning within the German market, hiring the team, setting up processes and expectations for their roles. There will be a level of consistency with global processes to align the company style but you will have full responsibility for managing the team in Germany and within this business a lot of autonomy. You will have the opportunity to bring your ideas and experience in the European market and utilise it here. You will be travelling a little to the UK office and also to the US headquarters. You will already have a good European customer base to serve and much of this will be transferred to you from the US offices so you can provide excellent quality local customer service from this new European office. This strengthened position in the European market should enable much continued growth as this business is still not well known in Europe yet.
