Are you looking to use your recent Computer Science degree to make a real-world impact?
This is a great opportunity for you to use your programming ability to help develop the tools needed by both clinical and academic researchers to aid their research into genetic conditions.Working within the Computational Biology group as part of the team responsible for developing, testing and supporting applications used both internally and by customers of its microarray and next-generation sequencing (NGS) products business.
Primary responsibilities will include writing clean code to implement new features and fix bugs in existing software, ensuring code is well tested, and supporting other team members by reviewing code and providing feedback. You will also liaise directly with customers and other stakeholders to translate feature requests to implementation details, as well as providing second-line support, so strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
A solid academic background, including a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, with demonstrable experience applying Object-Oriented design principles to the development of Java desktop or web applications, is required.
