They have a position in one of their laboratories in Bradford for a Technical Manager, which will include responsibility for the technical competence of the business. This means ensuring that methods are technically correct to comply with the quality system. You will be training staff to be technically competent as well as advising the business as to which equipment they need to buy. You will also be required to write short editorials to raise the company's profile, make presentations to staff and clients.|
|Experience||You should know the environmental analysis business. This is not a research post but routine analysis. Ideally you will have five years experience in method development including extensive experience in an environmental laboratory. You will have used a range of chromatography techniques including GC, HPLC, GCMS, GCFID. You should understand analysis and have a strong chemistry background i.e. qualified to at least degree level.|

The position will entail maintaining the quality systems in place. You will be taking care of stock control for the lab as well as looking after purchase requisitions to be signed. You will be involved in doing internal audits and will report to the Quality Manager who will be away for about 50 per cent of the time.|
|Experience||Lab experience is the main prerequisite for this position, although not necessarily in the environmental sector. You may have worked in food testing or have some experience of quality involvement in labs. A qualification in chemistry would be an advantage but not essential.|

|Job||A well-known name in the life science instrumentation market has a position for a UK Applications Support Chemist to cover the north of the UK from Birmingham upwards. They are one of the world's leading companies in molecular biology and are still growing. They supply equipment such as DNA sequencers and centrifuges. A position has become available due to internal promotion. This position will involve carrying out applications support on the company's genetic analysis products mainly sequencing and some liquid handling equipment. It is a field-based role, which will involve technical support for both existing and prospective customers as well as training of new customers. You will also be assisting the sales staff at product evaluations.|
|Experience||For this position you should have a strong background in life science research and molecular biology as well as the ability to work in a close team. Practical experience in DNA sequencing and biorobotics would be a strong advantage.|

One of the world's leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies is looking for a Support Team Manager for their mass spectrometer support team. You will be managing the support team (up to four people) as well as being involved with repair, service and calibration of Mass Spectrometers and associated equipment. You will be expected to liase with support administrators in areas such as work requests and service support as well as attending meetings with support groups and equipment users. You will be working in the East Hertfordshire/ West Essex area. If you are an engineer out on the road and are able to get on with people this may the opportunity you are looking for.
|Experience||For this rôle you could have an electrical/electronic engineering/chemistry degree or equivalent qualification. Ideally you will have computer and network knowledge. Some management experience is desirable. Experience of mass spectrometer maintenance is essential. You will be a team player and self-motivated.|

A dynamic and fast growing company is looking for a highly experienced Technical Support Person for their wide range of chromatography instruments. The rôle involves supporting and running applications for customers, training sales people, holding scale-up seminars and attending conferences. The previous person in this rôle has been promoted to product manager in the US headquarters.
