Our client is a well-established provider of small molecule crystallography data and is a leader in software for pharmaceutical discovery, materials development, research and education. This is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity that is involved in numerous teaching and outreach activities. They are looking for a Research Software Engineer and Application Scientist to join their friendly and supportive team in Cambridge.
You will be responsible for developing their existing software products as part of a small yet agile research and development team. This role will allow you to support innovative research planed by existing customers in both academia and the pharmaceutical industries. You will strengthen your project management skills by defining, planning, designing, implementing, releasing and supporting new software products too for both internal and external use. This is a user focused and technical role that will allow you to use your scientific understanding in a non-academic environment.
You must have experience in using structure-based and ligand-based molecular modelling methods in the context of drug design. A minimum of an MSc with at least 3 years of experience in computational sciences is essential. A recent PhD graduate from a computational chemistry, biology, or physics lab would be preferred.
