They are seeking a recent graduate to join a successful team of Technical support engineers as a Software Support Engineer delivering day-to-day remote support services for their Life Science and Chemical Analysis customers.
The job will involve remotely fixing software problems on customer’s Client/Server and Standalone PC configurations, using different software tools to connect directly to the customer’s PC. This will require troubleshooting of PC network communication, instrument control, data analysis and database issues as well as using virtualization software to reproduce problems in-house in order to determine the issue. You will be part a team of 14 remote technical engineers based in the head office in Manchester and will be responsible for remote troubleshooting on software products and applications. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who enjoys working in a team and solving problems.
The successful candidate will be a Bachelor or Master graduate in Computer Science with interest in Life Sciences, or Life Science graduate with excellent IT/software skills or Software Engineering and Computer Engineering. Experience of removing/installing software and working with databases is desirable. Experience with Chemstation, Ezchrom, Openlab or other instrument control software is an advantage.
