Established in the 1920’s this company is now a global leader in diagnostic imaging. They research, develop and manufacture contrast media and injectors to improve diagnostic imaging efficiency, patient safety and cost-effectiveness. They’re involved in the main imaging modalities such as X-ray (including Computerized Tomography (CT)), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine. Although they operate in 40 countries worldwide, they’re still family run and have managed to maintain that small family run feel rather than turning into a large corporate dinosaur. They are very different from any other equipment or media manufacturer in this market and have always concentrated on doing what is right for the customer.
Your role will be to promote sales of injectors and contrast media to hospitals and veterinary practices in the Midlands area (Birmingham, surrounding counties and central Wales). The time spent on new and established business will be split roughly 50/50. This is a consultative sale and you’ll spend a great deal of time building relationships with contacts across all buying levels from senior management to radiographers. Whilst they are one of the oldest companies in the injector market and their contrast media has some of the lowest levels of dangerous additives on the market, there will often not be a great deal of clinical difference between your products and the competition. This means you’ll frequently need to rely on your commercial acumen and determination to win sales. Lead times can be fairly lengthy, especially with NHS clients.
There is an excellent benefits package including a £730 per month car allowance, 25 pence per mile petrol allowance, 8%% contributory pension and £500 per year towards gym fees. Also, this company are happy to support you through further education, whether that be a correspondence MSc or that MBA you always intended to study for.
You do not need specific experience of injectors or contrast media to be considered for this role but you should have experience selling medical equipment and/or pharmaceuticals to the NHS. An ABPI qualification would be a distinct advantage although training for this will be provided if required. Previous experience in and around radiology or cardiology would also be an advantage, especially any MR or CT experience. However, character is most important.
