Our client, a global leader in light technology products, are looking to recruit a technical support engineer to join their growing UK team. The company is dedicated to the improvement of life through light-based technologies and conduct basic research on the fundamental properties of light, while also making extensive R&D efforts in the development of new products. Their products are used in a variety of areas including medical treatment, chemical analysis, and measurement in the scientific world.
The role is hands on and will see you servicing a range of professional level scientific imaging equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all digital imaging equipment is maintained and ready for pre-sale demos, verifying its operational performance and set-up. You will also be the first port of call for technical enquiries and trouble shooting while supporting the training of both customers and in-house staff.
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of a HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and have good knowledge of electronics together with experience of scientific imaging technologies and/or opto-electronics. Be able to diagnose faults in electronic circuitry and deal with mechanical system hardware. Computer literacy is essential and a good understanding of Windows PC OS 7, Windows Server 2008 & 2012 R2, IIS, RAID and LANs is required. Knowledge of digital pathology mechanical systems would also be very beneficial.
